Timeline

- FEBRUARY 2008 - The Danish Ministry of
Science, Technology and Innovation publishes its Strategy on
Knowledge-based Collaboration between Denmark and China and
launches together with the Danish universities the project of a
Sino-Danish University Center in Beijing
- MAY 2008 - A Danish Delegation
including members from the Danish Ministry of Science,
Technology and Innovation and the Danish Universities travel to
China to meet with the Chinese Ministry of Science and
Technology (MOST) as well as several Chinese Universities,
among them Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of
Science (UCAS)
- OCTOBER 2008 - Memorandums of
Understanding are signed between the Danish and Chinese
partners
- SEPTEMBER 2009 - The Danish Industry
Foundation makes a donation of 80 million DKK to the
construction of a building on UCAS' Yanqihu Campus north of
Beijing
- OCTOBER 2009 - SDC arranges a large symposium
and subsequent workshops in Beijing. More than 130 researchers from
the two countries participate
- APRIL 2010 - The Partnership Agreement and the
Building Agreement are signed in Beijing by the Danish and Chinese
partners in presence of the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and the
Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen
- AUGUST 2010 - The first Danish researcher is
posted with CAS/UCAS for a period of two years
- OCTOBER 2010 - The Danish Industry
Foundation will launch the architectural contest on the
design of the future House of the Danish Industry Foundation
- SEPTEMBER 2012 - The first four SDC Master's
programmes launch: Neuroscience & Neuroimaging, Water &
Environment, Innovation Management and Public Management &
Social Development
- SEPTEMBER 2013 - Three new Master's
programmes will join the four current programmes: Nanoscience,
Omics and Biochemical Engineering
